Kitten Purchase Contract
At NY Divine Dolls Cattery, we take pride in being a responsible, ethical, and transparent Ragdoll breeder. To protect our kittens, our clients, and the integrity of the Ragdoll breed, every adoption includes a legally binding Kitten Purchase Contract.
This agreement outlines the terms of sale, health guarantee, spay/neuter requirements, and ownership responsibilities — ensuring each kitten is placed in a safe, permanent, and loving home.
Why a Contract Matters
Our contract helps set clear expectations and provides peace of mind for both buyer and breeder. It is designed to:
– Ensure the long-term health and safety of the kitten
– Establish responsible ownership guidelines
– Confirm registration and lineage authenticity
– Define spay/neuter timing and breeding restrictions
– Offer health coverage and buyer protections
As a CFA, TICA, and CFF registered cattery operating under New York State laws, we believe all placements should be done with full transparency and mutual respect.
What’s Included in the Agreement
Our standard purchase contract covers:
1. Health Guarantee
– Each kitten is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of pickup/delivery
– Kittens are vaccinated and examined by a licensed veterinarian before leaving
– Genetic health guarantee for congenital defects up to a specified age (outlined in contract)
2. Spay/Neuter Policy
– All kittens placed as pets must be spayed or neutered by a certain age (typically by 6 months)
– Proof of alteration is required to receive registration papers
– Breeding rights are only granted through special written agreement
3. Registration & Lineage
– All kittens are CFA, TICA, and/or CFF registered
– Registration papers are provided after proof of spay/neuter or with approved breeding contracts
– Pedigrees are available upon request or provided on each cat’s profile page
4. No-Declaw Clause
– We strongly prohibit the declawing of any NY Divine Dolls kitten
– Declawing voids the health guarantee and violates the terms of sale
5. Right of First Refusal
– If for any reason you can no longer keep your kitten, we require you to contact us first
– We will assist with rehoming or offer to take the cat back directly
6. Ownership Agreement
– The buyer agrees to provide proper nutrition, veterinary care, and indoor-only housing
– Mistreatment, neglect, or violation of the contract may result in legal action or repossession
Finalizing Your Adoption
Once your application is approved and a deposit is placed, we will:
– Email you the contract to sign electronically or in person
– Provide a payment receipt and reservation confirmation
– Schedule updates on your reserved kitten, including photos and health checks
– Guide you through pick-up or delivery planning
Please note: We do not hold kittens without a signed contract and deposit in place.
